Welcome to Aragon Elementary
Aragon Elementary proudly serves students in kindergarten to fifth grade and is a Title I school. Title I is the largest federally funded program for elementary schools in the nation. Title I provides the opportunity to improve outcomes and the assistance will support Aragon in achieving equity for all students. Title I is designed to provide schools with additional support and learning opportunities that result in the academic proficiency of all students through best instructional practices.
Aragon is also a recipient of the “Breakfast Before the Bell” and “After School Snack Program” to meet the physical needs of our students and support excellent nutrition and health. The implementation of both programs has had a positive impact on our students and the start and end of their school day.
Aragon believes every minute counts and learning opportunities occur from bell to bell. Aragon’s staff takes great pride in academics, behavioral, and social emotional development of all students. We align learning targets to the Colorado State Standards in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. We appreciate the partnership we have with our parents and community that supports our students meeting their full potential and achieving academic success.

At Aragon Elementary, we believe that students learn best in an encouraging and supportive environment. Appropriate behavior will be encouraged and reinforced consistently in the classroom and throughout the school setting. In addition to frequent verbal praise and encouragement, the Aragon staff will recognize, encourage, and celebrate appropriate behavior.

Interesting Facts:
Aragon started out as the District Eight middle school. Sometimes it will still be labeled Aragon Middle School in GPS searches.
Aragon has the largest elementary gym for P.E. class.
Aragon was named after a Vietnam Veteran, Jose Aragon. Part of Jose’s family still lives in Fountain and are a part of our community.
Aragon was the first elementary school to implement Responsive Classroom strategies and daily Morning Meetings.
Aragon has a wide range of activities for students that includes ballet, hip hop dancing, girls running club, art club, Battle of the Books club, and a STEM club.
